About me
My Teaching Journey
I have had the privilege of working as a senior leader in schools but first and foremost, I am a classroom teacher. I find myself to be the most effective leader of teaching and learning when I am indeed, practising the skill. This unassailable truth is what has inspired me to combine my passion for teaching with my leadership and school improvement experience, to provide English teams across the country (and beyond!) with meaningful, highly-effective and dynamic CPD.
Pencil Point Consultancy's Vision
I aim to inspire teachers to want to stay in the classroom and to build on the things they know, whilst motivating them to engage with techniques they've never tried before. I benefitted from effective CPD during my 18 years in schools, and I now endeavour to make an important contribution to the delivery of outstanding teacher training for English specialists, especially at a time in Education where the stakes keep rising.
CPD led by a Classroom Expert
I’m driven to inspire educators to exceed expectations and I have always led by example. I am deeply proud of the ongoing success of my students. Before launching as an independent trainer, my examination results saw 100% of my A-Level English students achieve A*- B, 50% of which were A* grades, and 68% of my GCSE students exceeded their targets. I continue to teach English privately which keeps me active and involved in what students are experiencing in their daily diet of English at school. This, alongside teaching across various examination boards and specifications, makes the relevancy and impact of my CPD workshops a resource from which every English team can benefit.
